Tyre on tyres is extremely quiet compared to cars
on asphalt or concrete. Shock loads created are absorbed
in the panels - ensuring driver comfort.
A Safer Surface
HoldFast panels do not suffer from cracking, splitting
or pot holes created by freeze / thaw. Water drains
straight off the raised anti-skid surface.
Environmental Credentials
354,000 waste tyres will be used for every mile of
Rubber Highway. The Highway will survive maintenance
free for over 20 years, in contrast to asphalt roads
- reducing replacement costs. The panels are cold
cure manufactured and supplied direct to site - low
energy consumption and a short supply chain.
Road Traffic Diversions
Branch rail lines can be used to divert traffic from
A/B roads to run along the Highway between occasional
traffic or during road closures and peak traffic times.
Long Life
HoldFast panels are proven to survive continual freight
traffic with a long lifespan.
A Maintenance Free Environment
The track bed and crossing itself is maintenance free
and will survive weather and traffic forces for longer
periods. This reduces the need for replacement - a
further environmental advantage.
If any panel is damaged then that particular panel
can be quickly removed and replaced. NO long road
closures, drilling or heavy plant is required.
Congestion Relief
Financial cost apart, road congestion has a considerable
impact on the local environment. Traffic fumes; noise
pollution; extended rail and road journeys with increased
fuel consumption and pollution levels can be reduced.
HRH can provide road congestion relief by providing
toll roads, diversion routes, affordability for light
rail schemes and the integration of private and public
transport on shared routes.
Reduced Supply Chain
HoldFast has developed a management system to enable
HRH to be delivered and off offloaded direct to track
bed

Redundant
branch lines
We can transform hundreds of unused or underused rail
lines into routes for mixed 50mph tram and vehicle
traffic. If there is no track we can re-instate it
at a fraction of the cost of new road build.
Light Rail
We can replace asphalt with rubber to encase a light
rail infrastructure for easier maintenance, providing
a removable platform for track and track bed maintenance.
Depot Platforms
Suitable for any locations where rail, people and
vehicles converge, including: maintenance depots;
cleaning sheds; and stations.
Junctions
HRH is ideal for busy junctions where fluted rail
would be generally used and encased in asphalt and
concrete.
Guided Bus Lanes
HoldFast are also applying revisions of our technology
to facilitate affordable guided bus lane routes.
